About 2048
2048 is an Android number puzzle game developed and published by HassApps.
The player swipes in any direction to move all the numbered squares on the board, and whenever two squares carrying the same number touch, they merge into one square with double the value.
The game is played on board sizes of 5×5, 4×4, and 3×3, across three levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard, with the goal of reaching the 2048 square, or 512 on the Hard level.
The application does not require an account, username, or password in order to play.
HassApps operates no server for this game. Everything the game saves stays on your device. The only information that leaves the device is what Google collects for advertising, and only after your consent choice allows it.
Information We Collect
HassApps does not collect, receive, or store personal information on its servers.
The application never asks you to provide:
- Name
- Username
- Email address
- Phone number
- Password
- Account information
- Location information
- Contact information
- Payment information
There is no online account system, backend server, or online database operated by HassApps for storing player information, and the application contains no analytics or crash-reporting service.
The application does include a third-party advertising service, which collects certain device information as described in the Advertising section below.
Gameplay and Internet Connection
The entire gameplay of 2048 is processed locally on your device.
Moves, merges, the placement of each new square, scores, statistics, and preferences never travel to HassApps servers or to any other online server.
An internet connection is used only to show the consent form where it is required, to load advertisements, and to verify the in-app purchase with Google Play.
The game itself can be played without an internet connection.
Local Data Storage
The application stores the following on the device, in Android shared preferences, in order to provide its features:
- Interface language, appearance (auto, light, or dark), sound preference, and the selected level
- The board of each level, so an unfinished game continues when the application is reopened
- The best score of each level and the number of games played
- Whether the "How to play" screen has already been shown
- Whether the advertising removal purchase is active
This information is not transmitted to HassApps servers and is not shared with the advertising service.
If Android Backup is enabled in your device settings, Android may copy these game settings to your own Google account so they can be restored on a new device. That backup is handled by Android, not by HassApps, and it contains no personal information.
Best scores and the games counter can be cleared at any time inside the application, under Settings and then Reset statistics.
All locally stored information is removed when you clear the application data or uninstall the application.
Accounts and Registration
2048 does not require account registration and does not provide a HassApps player account.
Your Google account is used only by Google Play to process and restore the optional in-app purchase, as described below.
Permissions
The application declares the following Android permissions, all of them required by advertising and billing:
- INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — to load advertisements and to reach Google Play
- AD_ID — access to the device advertising identifier, declared by the Google Mobile Ads SDK
The application requests no access to location, camera, microphone, contacts, storage, or any other sensitive permission.
Advertising
2048 displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google.
Advertising appears as a banner at the bottom of the game screen and as a full-screen advertisement shown between games, never during play.
Google, acting as an independent third party, may collect and process certain information in order to serve and measure advertisements, which may include:
- The device advertising identifier
- General device and operating system information
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Advertising interaction data
This information is collected and used by Google under its own policies, not by HassApps. Further information is available in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses data in advertising.
You may reset the advertising identifier or opt out of personalised advertising from your device settings, under Google and then Ads. You may also remove advertising permanently through the in-app purchase described below.
Advertising Consent
In regions where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and certain United States states, the application shows a message provided by the Google User Messaging Platform before any advertisement is requested.
Your choice is recorded by that service on your device. The advertising SDK is not initialised and no advertisement is requested until your choice allows it.
Where this requirement applies, you can change that choice at any time inside the application, under Settings and then Ad privacy options.
In-App Purchases
2048 offers a single optional one-time purchase that removes advertising from the application.
Payment is processed entirely by Google Play Billing.
HassApps does not receive, process, or store any payment card details or billing information.
The application receives only a confirmation that the purchase was completed. That confirmation is stored on the device in order to disable advertising, and it is re-checked with Google Play each time the application is opened.
The purchase is linked to the Google account that made it, and can be restored on any device through the Restore purchases option inside the application.
Third-Party Services
2048 uses the following third-party services, all of them provided by Google:
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — displaying advertisements
- Google User Messaging Platform — collecting and storing the advertising consent choice
- Google Play Billing — processing and verifying the optional in-app purchase
The application uses no online user accounts, cloud storage, HassApps backend servers, online databases, analytics, or crash-reporting services.
If additional third-party services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
Data Sharing
HassApps does not sell, rent, or share personal information collected through 2048, because HassApps collects no personal information on its servers.
Device information used for advertising is collected directly by Google as the advertising service provider, as described in the Advertising section.
Scores, statistics, and preferences are never shared with the advertising service and remain on your device.
Data Security
Because 2048 sends no personal information to HassApps servers, HassApps maintains no online database of personal information collected from users of the application.
Information stored locally is protected by the security mechanisms of your Android device, and by the application's own private storage, which other applications cannot read.
Communication with Google's advertising and billing services is encrypted by those services.
Children's Privacy
2048 is not directed to children, and it is not designed for or targeted at children under 13.
The application does not knowingly collect personal information from children, does not request an account, and is not marked as child-directed in its advertising configuration.
The application should be used in accordance with the age rating and availability information shown on Google Play.
Your Rights and Choices
Because HassApps holds no personal data about you, there is no account to access, correct, or delete on our side. You remain in control of everything the application stores, and may at any time:
- Clear best scores and the games counter inside the application, under Settings and then Reset statistics
- Change your advertising consent choice, where this applies, under Settings and then Ad privacy options
- Reset the advertising identifier or opt out of personalised advertising from your device settings
- Remove advertising permanently through the optional in-app purchase, and restore it on another device
- Start a new game at any level, which replaces the saved board of that level
- Clear the application data or uninstall the application to erase everything stored on the device
For data held by Google as the advertising provider, requests under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or United States state privacy laws should be directed to Google through the links in the Advertising section. You may also write to us with any privacy question using the contact details below.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application, its functionality, data practices, advertising, third-party services, or applicable legal requirements change.
The latest version is always published on this page, together with the date of the most recent update.
